MKViz takes the news that touches people’s money right now, from jobs, cost of living, pensions and taxes to housing, energy prices, interest rates and big company news, and answers the specific questions people are searching about it in plain language. Every article gives one person’s take and carries a reader poll, so you can see what people in seven languages think. It is written by Vizer, an independent investor based in Seoul, South Korea.
Who is Vizer?
Vizer is the pen name of the investor who runs MKViz. Vizer has invested seriously since 2023, mainly through Korea-listed ETFs that track US indices, holding US dividend and Nasdaq exposure for the long term. That means real exposure to US companies and the dollar, and first-hand experience with currency conversion and overseas capital gains tax filing as a Korean resident.
Vizer built the data tools behind this site: collectors for SEC EDGAR and Korea’s DART filings, price and macro data, and the calculations the articles draw on. Vizer reads filings and earnings releases in the original English and writes in Korean and English.
What makes MKViz different?
Most coverage tells you what happened. MKViz answers what you want to know next: what changes for me, and what do other people think? Each article answers the questions people type into search about an issue, gives Vizer’s own view from an interview done for that article, and puts the poll results from seven language communities side by side, so you can see whether readers in Korean, German or Portuguese see the same issue the same way. Stocks, charts and numbers appear when an issue needs them, and every number comes from a named source.
How we choose issues, source numbers, and check and correct articles is set out in our editorial policy.
Conflicts of interest
Vizer holds Nasdaq and US dividend index constituents indirectly through ETFs, plus small amounts of crypto assets. When an article covers one of these, the article says so in the text.
